Three Tech Plans Every Organization Should Have

At LeadershipOne Technologies, we believe firmly that planning for technology is an important discipline for today’s organizations. With a reliance on systems more than ever to support operations, communications, and for schools learning and academics, planning helps ensure a reliable and modern system where nothing falls through the cracks.

While planning takes a significant amount of effort to develop and maintain, some plans are more important than others and should be prioritized. Below are three plans we recommend every organization have to minimize risk of problems.

Cybersecurity plan – a robust cybersecurity plan is a must in today’s world. Implementing a proactive plan that fortifies technical defenses while increasing employee training helps reduce the risk of successful attack, while a reactive plan that outlines the steps should an event occur helps mitigate some of the damage. Both proactive and reactive are part of the overall plan.

Inventory and Replacement Schedule – knowing what you have and when you’ll replace it reduces risk of failure and keeps your budget on track. Scheduled equipment replacements keep your organization modern, which is a key to attracting and retaining customers, and reduces the risk of downtime. It also allows you to plan your budget instead of react to unexpected needs.

IT Continuity Plan – being prepared if you have to adjust IT staff suddenly keeps you moving during the unexpected, especially with COVID still out there. Organizations that have only one IT member should have a backup staff plan, and anyone with administrative access to systems should ensure that login is securely shared with at least one other person. If there is no IT person on staff, contracting with a 3rd party to handle this is critical.

LeadershipOne Technologies has nearly fifteen years of experience developing IT plans and can help you draft and implement these plans so can be prepared. Don’t let time or cost be a limiting factor – contact us today and let’s have a conversation!
